She's shot down rumours she had an affair with Brad Pitt while they were working on their upcoming film Allied.

But their characters in the film do, in fact, make love onscreen in a rather cramped car as a sandstorm rages outside. On Monday, Marion Cotillard described shooting the sequence as 'an awkward situation' when she sat for a Los Angeles press conference, per Us Weekly. Putting together a workable sex scene, she explained, requires planning. 'We rehearse and had a very determined choreography, and then it allows you freedom.'

And she explained: 'When you know exactly what your body will do, then you can act and you can be free to give the emotions and give the feelings because you won’t think: "What am I going to do next? Am I going to go on top of him?" It’s an awkward situation.'

As the 41-year-old's recalled the process, 'We laughed because you need to get it out because this is so weird.'
As a result, 'you get this time of looking at each other and saying: "OK, this is so weird." And then we go into this and then I’m going on top of you and then we are going to kiss.'

The La Vie En Rose star's been with her partner Guillaume Canet since 2007, and the pair have a five-year-old son called Marcel. Yet in September, aftr Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from her husband of two years, speculation abounded that his on-set relationship with Cotillard might have been at least partially culpable.
