Madonna’s oldest daughter, Lourdes Leon, is 19 years old and currently a student at University of Michigan, and she has maintained an impressively low profile, for being Madonna’s daughter, as she has made a point of avoiding the spotlight, attending few events, not posting publicly on social media

. . . essentially none of it. “I have a lot of people judging my every move,”  “It’s important for me to not let it rule my life.”

But Lourdes is now making her first real foray into the world of modeling, with her debut as part of a Stella McCartney ad campaign, for the designer’s new Pop perfume, the first fragrance McCartney has released in four years. Leon joins Grimes, Kenya Kinski-Jones, and Amandla Stenberg in the campaign, which aims to, as Vogue puts it, “promote self-acceptance” by offering a “refreshing alternative to the occasionally divisive atmosphere of body shaming and the unfiltered opinion-sharing that currently exists on social media.”

“I go through this struggle myself, [where] women’s bodies have been made so public that everyone feels like they need to comment,” Leon told the outlet. “I love when someone doesn’t pretend to be someone they are not.”

Mom Madonna posted one of the images from the campaign (see above), seemingly a behind-the-scenes shot, commenting, “I miss this Beautiful Girl! Looking forward to seeing her very soon!” (“Mooooom,” Lourdes no doubt responded in a text to Madonna.)

McCartney posted a shot on her own Instagram account, where she described her excitement about working with “Lola,” whom McCartney has “known her entire life” and who is “at the beginning of her career as a performing artist.”
