Swift has finally performed in Houston, Texas on the eve of Super Bowl. While performing she said,“As far as I know, I’m doing one show in 2017.

By coming here you are essentially attending 100 per cent of my tour dates for the year.”

After a rocky 2016, with her lost battle against power couple ‘Kimye’, and the hatred she got on the social media, singer-songwriter Taylor Swift seems to be kicking off 2017 quite well.

Swift has finally performed in Houston, Texas on the eve of Super Bowl. While performing she said,“As far as I know, I’m doing one show in 2017. By coming here you are essentially attending 100 per cent of my tour dates for the year.” She did an 18-song set, and gave the audience a huge throwbacks as well as swoons as they heard I Don’t Want To Live Forever, live, for the first time. The song is Swift’s latest track sung in collaboration with Zayn Malik, for the film, Fifty Shades Darker.

After opening with her big hits 22, Blank Space, I Knew You Were Trouble and a few more. While singing I Don’t Want to Live Forever, Swift asked the crowd to sing Malik’s part to the Fifty Shades Darker track, since he wasn’t around. To everyone’s surprise, even though the song launched recently, fans knew the lyrics by heart.

Swift also sang two songs that were rumoured to be written by her: This Is What You Came For by Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna, and Little Big Town’s Better Man. Both songs had their own share of drama — the first song caused a problem because Taylor tried to target Harris on Twitter, saying she wrote the song, but Harris fired back stating she already agreed to let him use the lyrics. It was rumoured that the latter was actually written for Calvin Harris himself, though Swift has not confirmed it.

Swift is famous for calling on guest performers on her shows, however, unlike her other shows, this one did not feature any special guest. Previously, Selena Gomez, The Weeknd, Lorde, Kobe Bryant and Nick Jonas among others, have been a part of her shows including the 1989 (album) tour.

The other songs she belted out during her performance included several of her classics, such as You Belong With Me (which was everyone’s middle school jam), Red, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Love Story and All Too Well. She closed the night with four songs from her recent album 1989 and her hit Shake It Off.

Before her exit she said, “Thank you, Houston, Texas. Be safe. Have fun. Play ball. Love you guys”, referring to the Super Bowl game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots.
