Chart-topper Adele has been named the wealthiest musician in the UK under 30 for a second year in a row, after climbing the ranks of The Sunday Times Rich List.

Compiling the 100 richest names in Britain and Ireland, the full list will be out on Sunday, with the Hello singer doubling her earnings in the last 12 months to £125 million.
Comparatively, it’s a fraction of the £780m fortune enjoyed by Sir Paul McCartney who tops the list (with wife Nancy Shevell), with musical theatre legend Andrew Lloyd Webber coming in at second place with £740m.

Rockers U2 come in at third place with £548m, while Sir Elton has been named fourth-richest with a cool £290m.
Sitting further down the list, Adele placed equal 19th place with Brian May who also has a £125m fortune.

However, compiler of The Sunday Times Rich List Robert Watts said Adele had the potential to become Britain’s highest-earning artist of all time.
‘What a year for Adele. Such strong record sales and a busy touring schedule propel her into our main list for the first time,’ he said.
‘Still in her 20s, if Adele’s career lasts as long as many of the other entries in our list, she has the potential to be the highest-earning British musician of all time.’

Adele’s 2017 results give her an extra £40m in Adele’s back pocket, after she topped the 2016 edition of the same list with £85m.
The Music Millionaires list is out ahead of the 29th annual Sunday Times Rich List, which will be released this weekend.
The full list ranks the 1,000 richest individuals and families across the UK and Ireland.
