Kendall Jenner will be honored at New York Fashion Week as a Fashion Icon of the Decade — despite the fact she was only 11 years old one decade ago.

The 21-year-old model has graced the covers of countless fashion magazines and has walked in a number of runway shows in the last few years, but that isn't enough for some angry fashion lovers who think the TV personality doesn't deserve the ringing endorsement.
"Decade???? she was 11 a decade ago??? have you SEEN what the kardashians were wearing 10 years ago???" one Twitter user questioned.
"Girl poses with the same old boring face, didn't even do 10 diverse photoshoots & y'all giving her 'Fashion Icon of The decade' .... Tragic," another wrote.
Others offered up different suggestions to receive the title, like Rihanna and Zendaya.
"I'm tired of y'all giving Kendall Jenner credits that she doesn't deserve. Kendall is not the fashion icon of this Decade. Rihanna is," an angry user declared.
Another social media user posted the question, "How has Kendall Jenner won a fashion icon award when her whole family needs a stylist to prepare every single outfit they wear?"
While not everyone thought it was a terrible decision, some users were quick to point out that it was "too soon" for Jenner to be given the title.
Jenner, who is a member of the Kardashian empire, will be honored along with several others at The Daily Front Row's fifth annual Fashion Media Awards on Sept. 8 during the upcoming New York Fashion Week.
Mario Testino will be honored as Creative of the Year, Joanna Coles will receive the award for Media Maverick and Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner are being recognized for Lenny as Best Digital Destination.
