Probably world’s most successful and biggest franchise, Fast and Furious, after the humongous success of Fate of The Furious aka Fast and Furious 8, were all set for a ninth part.

It was announced by Universal that the film will see an April 19, 2019 release, but according to a report in The Hollywood Reporter, the makers revealed that they have pushed it by an year. Fast and Furious 9 will now hit the screens on April 10, 2020, which is an Easter weekend.
The ninth instalment will see the return of all of the main cast including its lead star Vin Diesel, however, Dwayne Johnson’s return is not confirmed. But all the fans who are disheartened by the news of films postponement and the uncertainty surrounding Dwayne Johnson’s return, there is a good news. As reported by us earlier, makers are keen on a spin-off featuring Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson and it is possible that film might see a 2019 release. Earlier this year, talking about the spin-off a report by Deadline had stated, “This is in early stages, but they’ve met on the concept, which sources said will be scripted by Chris Morgan, the chief writer of the series that is hitting new heights with the eighth installment. Talking about the franchise’s last film, Fast and Furious 8 aka Fate of The Furious, the film broke the record of the biggest global launch of all time and made a huge $1.238 billion worldwide. It became the second film in the franchise to earn a billion dollar, first one being Furious 7 aka Fast and Furious 7.
