Perhaps one of the only things more surprising than Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin's whirlwind engagement is how much the ring cost.

Though Time previously estimated that the rock was worth at least $250,000, TMZ reports that the real price was double that. Baldwin's ring totaled at "around half a mil," according to the site.
Bieber picked out the ring from private New York City-based jeweler, Solow & Co, he revealed on Twitter on Wednesday afternoon. Founder Jack Solow is good friends with the singer's manager, Scooter Braun.
"In the end, Justin wanted something that would gracefully accentuate Hailey’s beautifully shaped hands. We settled on an oval stone that was just exceptional in its length and grace," Solow added.
Hailey's rock is between 6 to 10 carats, and Solow only had "a few weeks" to make the custom piece of jewelry, he added to People. Baldwin was seen flashing her ring in Brooklyn yesterday while out and about with her pop star fiancé.
According to the jeweler, Bieber gave the ring "a lot of thought" and seemed very pleased when he found the right piece. "He seemed really excited. He was looking inside the diamond with the loop, and said, 'I think I see Hailey’s face,'" Solow said.
Bieber confirmed his engagement with Baldwin earlier this week, days after rumors swirled that he popped the question during their weekend getaway in the Bahamas.
He shared photos with his new fiancée on Monday with a lengthy Instagram caption that included: "My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment each other so well!!"
