Taylor Swift will be landing a role in a film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s stage musical Cats.

She is set to join Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, who will play Grizabella - the glamourpuss, all alone in the moonlight - in the cinema version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical Cats.
It will be directed by Tom Hooper — who made the picture of Les Miserables and won an Academy Award for The King’s Speech.
Also in the cast are James Corden and Ian McKellen, according to sources I have spoken to in Los Angeles and London.
A proper, big-time film based on the landmark musical has been on the minds of men (and moggies) ever since the show, based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats, opened in the West End in 1981.
Lloyd Webber and director Trevor Nunn wove together a story from a series of poems Eliot wrote to entertain his godchildren.
The poems were read on a BBC radio broadcast in 1937 and published on the eve of war in 1939, becoming a bestselling collection.
