Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that Chris Pratt asked to marry his daughter Katherine in the traditional way.

The Terminator star opened up about Katherine's engagement to Chris during an interview with Mario Lopez for U.S. TV show Extra.
Making his first comments about the happy news, the former governor of California gave his future son-in-law his seal of approval, calling him "fantastic" and "a likable guy", before sharing the Guardians of the Galaxy actor asked for his daughter’s hand “the traditional way".
“He’s a wonderful guy," the 71-year-old gushed. "They both look really great together, they’re both happy together, so I wish them both the best of luck.”
According to editors at the publication, the Jurassic World actor asked the self-help author's parents for their approval weeks before popping the question.
“Chris asked for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s permission around Christmas,” a source previously told Us Weekly, adding that, “Maria helped him with the proposal.”
Chris, 39, proposed to Katherine, 29, on 13 January following a whirlwind romance.
“Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!” Chris captioned an Instagram photo along with a ring emoji, praying hands and a red heart.
Katherine's mother Maria, who reportedly introduced the couple, was the first member of her family to share her congratulations shortly after news broke of the engagement.
“Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful Spirtual (sic) people,” Maria commented on the Instagram engagement announcement. “We are so happy for you you are blessed as is everyone who knows you … yes let’s go.”
It will be the second marriage for Chris, who finalised his divorce from actress Anna Faris last autumn. The former couple share a son Jack, aged six.
Anna, who is dating cinematographer Michael Barret, was quick to share her congratulations to both Chris and Katherine.
"I'm so happy for you both!! Congratulations!" she shared underneath Chris' social media post.
