Chris Pratt has promised there will be a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

The fate of the third film was left in jeopardy when the franchise's creator, director and scriptwriter James Gunn was fired by Disney following the re-emergence of offensive tweets.
And, following assurances by Marvel boss Kevin Feige that Guardians of the Galaxy 3 "will happen" last month, Pratt, who plays Star-Lord in the MCU, has said he can "promise" fans a third movie will land in cinemas eventually. Woo!
Pratt told Variety: "I promise there’ll be a third movie, I don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like, but I know everyone on board is just eager to give the fans what they want and wrap up a trilogy in a meaningful way."

While it looks certain a third movie will happen, a new director is yet to be attached to the project, although it is thought Gunn's original script will still be used.
The Guardians of the Galaxy cast have publicly made it known that they are unhappy with Gunn's removal but a number of cast members, including Pratt and Karen Gillan, have confirmed their interest in still shooting GOTG 3.
Gunn has since moved over to the DC Universe, where he'll be writing a new Suicide Squad movie.
Next up on the Marvel release calendar is Captain Marvel on March 8, with Avengers: Endgame following on April 26.
