Queen and Adam Lambert have announced that they will perform at the 2019 Oscars.

Lambert shared the news on Twitter, writing that he and the legendary group “will rock” the Academy Awards ceremony this Sunday (February 24).
Bohemian Rhapsody, the biopic about late Queen frontman Freddy Mercury, is up for five Oscars including Best Picture. Rami Malek, who portrays Mercury in the film, is in the running for Best Actor.
The Academy also teased the news on Twitter, writing “Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?” which is a lyric from Queen’s five-minute epic, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
Adam Lambert, who launched a pop career after bagging runner-up on American Idol in 2009, toured with Queen as lead vocalist on their world tour between 2014 and 2018. The band’s original members – guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor – remain in the band however bassist John Deacon hasn’t played with Queen in nearly three decades.
Lambert also had a cameo role in Bohemian Rhapsody, which he confirmed in January after months of speculation.
The moment in question sees Mercury speaking to his girlfriend Mary Austin (Lucy Boynton) on the phone at a road stop when Lambert approaches him. Lambert, wearing a trucker cap and sporting bushy facial hair, gazes at him longingly for what is suggested to later unfold as a public bathroom tryst.
